How a Cozy Bookstore Inspired a Sticker Character

New Series!!! (Okay, so maybe—if you all find it as fun as I do.)
Every sticker has a story. Some arrive in my mind fully formed, while others slowly reveal themselves as I create. I thought it might be fun to share a few behind-the-scenes tales with you. Maybe you’ll see the stickers differently afterwards—or better yet, create your own stories for them and share them with me.
Every world has its favorites, and Harvest Hollow is no exception. There’s one little character I keep coming back to, almost like they refuse to let me put the pencil down. Meet Bookie. I’m especially excited about him because he was my first experiment stepping outside my usual process. Instead of designing the character first, I built the world first and let the character grow out of it.
I pictured a suburban town much like any you might know—quiet streets, cozy homes, shops tucked into corners. And in the middle of it all, a bookstore. Not just any bookstore, but one that feels timeless. The kind where the same smiling person greets you year after year. Shelves climb high up the walls, ladders lean lazily against them, plants trail down in green ribbons, and there’s always a soft chair waiting for you to curl up with a book.
That’s when I knew who lived there. Who better to guard the stories, the wisdom, and the comfort of books… than a book himself?
And so Bookie was born—a friendly, slightly worn hardcover with plants sprouting from him. Trustworthy. Helpful. A little weathered, like someone in their late 50s who’s spent a lifetime among stories. As soon as I saw him, I just knew—that’s him.

Yes, if you’re wondering, Bookie is available as a sticker (I’m still deciding on magnets or not). Creating him brought me so much joy, and I still feel it every time I look at him.
Now I’m curious—when you look at the stickers, do you ever wonder what story lives inside them? Tell me which creature sparks your curiosity, and maybe I’ll share their tale in a future post. Or even better—tell me the story you see when you look at your favorite sticker.
